The Student Energy Career Training Program (SECT) builds leadership and employability skills through energy education, project management training, individualized career coaching, and interdisciplinary collaboration through experiential learning opportunities with leading energy companies.

Schedule
The program will take place from September 2024 to March 2025 with 8-10 hours per week for 25 weeks. (approximately 250 hours in total)
Month 1: Coursework
This includes the completion of the General Curriculum on the Learning Hub with a total of 3 learning units and 2 assignments in the first month.
Months 2-6: Active Participation and Practicum Project
This includes participating in two mandatory meetings each week. One meeting will be with your assigned Project Partner, while the other is with your internal cohort team. The Practicum Project will run throughout months 2-4, which includes delivering a final presentation and completing project deliverables.
Months 5-6: Career Development and Coaching
This includes the completion of career development modules and attending one-on-one career coaching sessions.
This time commitment encompasses 2 hours per week for mandatory meetings, 2 hours per week for coursework, 2-3 hours per week for the practicum project, and 2-3 hours per week for career acquisition skills development and 1:1 career coaching. Optional in the program are external guests webinars, and networking mixers.

We are currently accepting applications for the 5th cohort which will start in September 2024 and will run for six months.
