To be eligible for wage funding through the Green Jobs program, interns must be:

  • Between the ages of 18 and 30 on the starting date of employment;
  • Eligible to work in Canada;
  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident or have refugee status;
  • Available to work for at least 30 hours per week (some exceptions apply), for a 6-12 month position; and
  • Able to submit reports throughout their participation in the program 

Privacy Notice
Your privacy is important to us. Any information you share will be used to: 
  • Assess demand for this program; 
  • Contact you with future information about the program, including roles you may wish to apply for;
  • Connect you with employers; 
  • Assess your eligibility for the program; and, 
  • (If the application progresses) managing relationships, including contract development and reporting requirements throughout the program. 
Details (including personal identification, employment interests, and contact info) of consenting youth hired through the program will be shared with the program funder, Natural Resources Canada. These details will be shared for reporting and eligibility considerations. Details of consenting youth seeking employment (including resumes, employment interests and city/province of residence) entering our applicant pool may be shared with prospective employers. These details will be shared to evaluate your fit for prospective roles. 

The information you submit through this form is processed by FormAssembly on behalf of Student Energy; and is stored by Google on its servers, which are located in the United States. The information we collect from you is meant for internal use only and will not be shared with other third parties.

Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is responsible for the evaluation of the Science and Technology Internship Program (STIP – Green Jobs), under the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS) Program on behalf of Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) and the Government of Canada. In order to conduct the evaluation activities, information from other sources (e.g. Canada Revenue Agency for income level) may be linked with this data. The information you have provided for evaluation and accountability purposes will also be shared with Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). Personal information is collected under the authority of the PSE 918, which is detailed in Info Source, and is handled in accordance with the Privacy Act. Wrap-around Supports include personalized support for interns to ensure they are able to participate in their roles (can include childcare, PPE, mandatory training, internet access, etc.)

Additional Demographic Information

The following questions are all optional. They will be used to better understand the reach of Student Energy programming, and to better support equity deserving groups across Canada. 

Rural refers to a community with <1000 people Remote refers to a permanent or long-term settlement with at least 10 dwellings that does not have year-round road access.

Racialized groups are a group of people categorized according to ethnic and/or cultural characteristics and subjected to structural discrimination.


A disability means any visible or invisible impairment that, in interaction with social barriers, hinders a person's full and equal participation in society.


An OLMC is a group of people whose maternal or chosen official language (English or French) is not the majority language in their province or territory (i.e. Anglophones in Quebec, or Francophones outside Quebec)

A newcomer to Canada refers to a person who obtained landed immigrant or permanent resident status in the last five years.
