To be considered for a wage subsidy through the Green Jobs program, an employer must be able to:

  • Offer at minimum 25% of the total salary for this position;
  • Legally hire employees in Canada;
  • Submit monthly financial reporting on the wages paid; and
  • Offer a full-time, high-quality role in the Green Economy to youth (aged 18-30) for a duration of at least 6 months

Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is responsible for the evaluation of the Science and Technology Internship Program (STIP – Green Jobs), under the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS) Program on behalf of Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) and the Government of Canada. Roles in the Green Jobs Program must be between 6 and 12 months in duration. Roles may extend longer than 12 months, but Student Energy’s support will conclude after 12 months, or when the full $21,500 in funding has been provided, whichever is earlier. If you are not sure when this role will end, please leave the end date blank. Indeterminate roles' contracts will be set to conclude March 31, 2026, aligning with the program funding cycle.
